DECEASED: Mr. J. W. "Well Digger" Rivers, age 80, died Friday, February 6, 2015

FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel

INTERMENT: will follow in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery

VISITATION: is 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home

HISTORY: Mr. Rivers was born January 6, 1935 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late John Weldon and Mattie Lua Gardner Rivers. He was a well digger and a former member of the SC National Guard. J.W. was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, a Mason, and President of the Red Land Hunting Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. J.W. also enjoyed raising dogs and picking cotton with a cotton picker. In addition to his parents, J.W. was also preceded in death by his son, John Weldon Rivers, III; a daughter, Julie Anna Rivers; brothers, Nelson Rivers and Rev. Lindsey Rivers; and sisters, Dorothy Lou Davis and Melba Brock.

SURVIVORS:
2 Daughters: Myra Rivers and Melinda (Clay) Treadaway both of Chesterfield, SC
3 Grandchildren: Casey (Amy) Rivers, Brooke Treadaway, and Colton Treadaway.
1 Great Grandchild: Charlie Rivers
Also a number of Nieces and Nephews
