Karen Turnage Melton

Chesterfield, SC

Mrs. Karen Turnage Melton, age 66, entered into rest on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at her home. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2020 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Troy Watkins and Rev. Steven Tarlton with burial to follow in the Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Melton was born October 26, 1953 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Wade and Newell Graves Turnage. She was a former employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing and a retired employee of Mar-Mac Industries. Karen was a member of Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and picking up pecans. Her most enjoyable times were spent with her family.

In addition to parents, Mrs. Melton was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Larry Dean Melton; son; Larry Dean Melton Jr.; brother, Wayne Turnage; sisters, Sharon Garris, Jane Wallace, Patsy Turnage, Millie Arant, Judy Suggs, and Denise Conrad.

Survivors include her children, Timothy Melton, and Dana M. (Derrick) Tarlton both of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Brittany Burgess, Ashley Tarlton and Hustin, Baelee, Graecee Anna Melton, and Victoria Thompson; sister, Linda (Robert) Davis of Chesterfield, SC; brothers, Ronnie (Gertrude) Turnage of Chesterfield, SC, Steve (Sandra) Turnage of Cheraw, SC, and Joseph (Cathy) Turnage of Pageland, SC; numerous other extended family members.
