FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel

INTERMENT: will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery

VISITATION: 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home

HISTORY: Mrs. Sellers was born July 22, 1918 in Mt. Croghan, SC a daughter of the late Lonnie Preston and Essie Beulah Steen Hancock. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. Her hobbies later in life included working word puzzles and playing bingo. In addition to her parents, Kate was also preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Cuthbert Sellers; son, James M. “Jimmy” Sellers; 3 brothers, Carroll, Junior, and Bill Hancock; and by 4 sisters, Alvonzie “Fon” Tucker, Melba Steele, Beatrice Raffaldt, and Sara Griffin.

1 Son: Wayne Sellers and wife Andrea of Chattanooga, TN
2 Grandaughters: Jennifer Sellers and husband Jonathan Denton of Chattanooga, TN, and Kristen Sellers and husband Christopher Webb of Philadelphia, MS
3 Great Grandchildren: Aralyn, Brayden, and Bennett
