Katherine "Kathy" Cole Johnson

Society Hill, SC

    Mrs. Katherine "Kathy" Cole Johnson, age 62, went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, August 11, 2024 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence. A Memorial Service will be 3:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Harris Creek Baptist Church by Pastor Cory Byrd and Rev. Rickie Cox. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

     Mrs. Johnson was born on May 3, 1962 in Anderson, SC a daughter of Reverend Arlie & Barbara Burris Cole. Katherine was an associate at Walmart before working in Watauga County, NC as an emergency services dispatcher. Mrs. Johnson would go on to retire from Food Lion after serving as a product demonstrator. Katherine was a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church and she lived her faith daily. She was a faithful witness as she led many friends and family members to Christ. Mrs. Johnson was someone who loved others, and others loved her. Kathy will be remembered as a lady who enjoyed life.

     Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Prue and Lorene Cole; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Oma Burris.

     Survivors include her parents, Reverend Arlie and Barbara Cole of Society Hill, SC; sister, Julie (Billy) Sees of Melbourne, FL; and special aunt, Patsy Cole of Melbourne Beach, FL.
