Katherine “Kathy” Reagan Harrold

Katherine “Kathy” Wells Reagan Harrold, died peacefully on the evening of Wednesday January 3^rd with her family by her side at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC.

Kathy was born May 11, 1948, in San Diego, CA to James E. Reagan, Sr. and Mary Wells Griggs Reagan.  She graduated from North Forsyth Senior High School in 1966.  She received a B.F.A. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1970.  After a brief tenure as an elementary art teacher in Sarasota, Florida she returned to Richmond, VA to complete her M.A. degree at The Presbyterian School of Christian Education.

Kathy served as Director of Christian Education (DCE) at several churches in Virginia and North Carolina before completing her M.A. in Recreational Therapy at The University of North Carolina, Greensboro.  In recreational therapy Kathy found her calling working for a time at Forsyth Memorial Hospital - Novant Health System in Winston- Salem and more than 20 years at Senior Services (The Elizabeth and Tab Williams Adult Day Center) in Winton-Salem, NC.  Kathy loved her time at Senior Services, sharing her talents and building many long-lasting friendships.

Kathy and husband of 22 years James “Michael” Harrold were active members of Clemmons Presbyterian Church.  They both enjoyed reading, travel, and spending time with their cats El Gato and Squigget.  Kathy also had a passion for genealogy and spent many years collecting, curating, and detailing the lineage and stories associated with her ancestry.  All who knew Kathy experienced her as loyal, dedicated and compassionate.  She will be greatly missed by all who know her. 

Kathy was preceded in death by husband Michael Harrold.  Those left to hold dear the memories are stepdaughter Michelle Stroebel (Robert), sisters Karen Clary (Jud) of Winston-Salem, NC, Kelly Reagan of Duluth, GA, and brother James (Jim) Reagan (Cynthia) of Chattanooga, TN, father and mother-in-law James and Sue Brown Harrold, sisters-in-law Kathy Hincher (Linney), Melissa Holbrook (Dan),nephews, grandnieces), brothers in law, Jeffrey Harrold (Tammy), David Harrold (Tressie), grandchildren, Corbyn and Cadie, and numerous nieces, nephews,  grandnieces and grandnephews.

A memorial service will be held at Clemmons Presbyterian Church in Clemmons, NC January 13^th at 4:00 pm followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.   A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 14 at 2:00 pm at Ruby Cemetery in Ruby, SC.  In lieu of flowers, Kathy requested all who care to do so remember her by doing an act of kindness in her memory.  Honorariums may also be made to Clemmons Presbyterian Church and/or Senior Services.
