Mr. Kenneth Ross “Bilo” Lear

Chesterfield, SC

          It is with tremendous sadness and unspeakable joy that Mrs. Donna Lear announces the homegoing of her beloved husband, Kenneth Ross “Bilo” Lear, age 62 who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, November 3, 2022. A service to honor his homegoing through music and worship will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Forest Pine Church. There will be no formal visitation, but the family welcomes visitors anytime at the home.

          Mr. Lear was born March 25, 1960 in Hartsville, SC a son of the late Lewis and Emma Lee Pigg Lear. Following his graduation from McBee High School, Ken began his career in law enforcement that spanned over 30 years. He was a former deputy with Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Department and a retired Sergeant with Chesterfield Police Department. A man who had a deep love for music, Ken was a very talented bass guitar player and tenor singer. He enjoyed being a member of Slope Valley Band.

          Mr. Lear was an active member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Praise Team and enjoyed his time serving as Brotherhood Director. Of all things enjoyed, Ken’s greatest passion in the last several years was sharing the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ to everyone he came in contact with.

          In addition to his parents, Mr. Lear was also preceded in death by his brother, Everett Lear.

          Survivors include his wife, Donna Lear of the home; children, Meagan (Rev. Brandon) Ard of Cheraw, SC, and Monica Lisenby of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Randall Lear of Chesterfield, SC, and Rev. Dennis (Cynthia) Lear of Batesburg, SC; numerous nieces and nephews including special “nephew,” Jason Stafford.
