LaSandra Strickland Grimsley, 66, of Florence, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 23, 2021.
Mrs. Grimsley was born a daughter of Gerata Grainger Strickland and the late William Dailey Strickland. She was a member of Wannamaker Baptist Church and an accomplished organist and pianist. Mrs. Grimsley earned two Masters Degrees and worked in education for over 30 years. She was awarded Teacher of the Year in Florence County and in Chesterfield County. She served as President/Secretary/and Treasurer of the Florence Methodist Spouses Group for many years. She was deeply committed to this organization.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Reverend Preston Grimsley; brothers, William Franklin Strickland and Alvie Dailey Strickland (Kelly); sister, Angelia Mae Strickland Williamson (Shane); brother-in-law, Phil Grimsley (Sandra); nieces and nephews, George Strickland, Scott Strickland, Daniel Strickland, Brice Williamson, Maggie Vollrath, Shayna Fitzgerald, Ryann Grace Williamson, Jessie Grimsley, Phillip Grimsley, April Cockfield, Jennifer Stone, and John Arnold; and special friend, Marty Neal.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, August 27, 2021, at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Committal service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols, SC.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Family has requested that masks be worn.

The family extends a special thanks to Fresenius Dialysis Center, Dr. Maqsood and the staff with McLeod Home Health and Physical Therapy, to the nurses at McLeod and Stacey Driggers, caretaker and friend.
