Mrs. Leila Mae Short Eason, age 98, entered into rest on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at her home. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Clanton Plains Baptist Church Cemetery by Dr. Steve West and Rev. Randy Gulledge. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
Friends may stop by Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home on Saturday between the hours of 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM, to pay their respects.
Mrs. Eason was born August 30, 1921 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Lester Bart and Loney Elizabeth Steen Short. She was a homemaker and member of Clanton Plains Baptist Church. Leila Mae enjoyed gardening and caring for all her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eason was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 79 years, Parvin Franklin Eason; grandson, Thomas Christopher Holt; brothers, Lee Burt, Gary, James, Sam, Julius, and Farris Short; and sister, Allie Short Hoffman.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Ann Bolton of the home; granddaughter, Cynthia Dawn Holt of Waxhaw, NC and her father, Thomas Holt; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Jessie Ray Short of Lancaster, SC; sisters-in-law, Betty Sue Short of Ruby, SC and Vera Short of Patrick, SC; beloved dog, “Dolly”; and numerous generations of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to special caregiver, Deborah Holley of Ruby, SC and hospice nurse, Beverly Vaughn and the entire staff of Regency SouthernCare Hospice of Chesterfield for their love and care shown to Mrs. Eason and her family.
Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, 212 Zoar Road, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
