Lena Mae Ratliff Brooks

Chesterfield, SC

 Mrs. Lena Mae Ratliff Brooks, age 94, entered into rest on Friday, December 15, 2023. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, December 17, 2023 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Randy Bishop. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Due to the threat of inclement weather, the committal service will be private in the Chesterfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Brooks was born November 8, 1929 in Mt. Croghan, SC a daughter of the late David Mack and Claudia Poe Rodgers Ratliff. She was a graduate of Mt. Croghan High School and a retired employee of Chesterfield County Health Department Vital Records office. Throughout her life, Mrs. Lena lived by her strong Christian values and was an active member of Chesterfield Baptist Church. She exemplified the qualities of a true Christian southern lady, known for her kind-heartedness, gentle nature, and sweet demeanor.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brooks was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Brooks, III; son, Walter Mitchell “Mickey” Brooks, and daughter, Cynthia Brooks Nolan.

Survivors include her grandsons, Ty Brooks of Lexington, SC, Justin Brooks of Lexington, SC, and Zack (Jessie) Harpe of Charleston, SC; great grandsons, Elliot Harpe and Oliver Harpe; daughter-in-law, Barbara Stewart Brooks of Lexington, SC; nephew, Charlie (Clara) Ratliff, Jr. of Charleston, SC, and nieces, Patricia (Lamar) Smith of Stanley, NC, and Linda (Bob) Kelly of Charlotte, NC.

Memorials can be made in memory of Mrs. Brooks to the Chesterfield Baptist Church, 207 E Main St, Chesterfield, SC 29709 .
