VISITATION: is 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday, July 28, 2014 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home

HISTORY: Mrs. King was born August 24, 1926 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Clarence Frank and Vera Virginia Davidson Ballard. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High School. Lera was a homemaker and a retired lunchroom manager at Chesterfield Middle School with 20 years of service. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Bible Class, and sent weekly bulletins to all the shut-ins. Lera enjoyed cooking, mowing grass, and taking care of all her family. In addition to her parents, Lera was also preceded in death by her husband,Robert Floyd King; three sisters, Vera White, Jackie Thrush, Omogene Eargle; and two half-sisters; Debra Ballard and Laura Sheppard.

Grandchildren: Angie (Tim) Burch, Teresa (Chris) Blanton, Rodney (Jill) Russell, Ryan Russell, Matt and Kameron King, Chance King, (Brittany Martin), Ben and Kelley King, Dustin Gooden (Laura Cutchin) and Casey Gooden (Spencer McLeod)
Also 10 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great, Great Grandchild
2 Sisters: Virginia King and Ruby Smith both of Chesterfield, SC
2 Half-brothers: C. F. Ballard of Burlington, NC and Tommy Ballard of Chesterfield, SC
1 Half-sister: Martha Benenhaley of Mint Hill, NC
