Mr. Tarlton was born December 8, 1955 in Hartsville, SC a son of Margie Dean Tarlton and the late Lester Junior Tarlton. He was a retired employee of Caro-Knit and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church, where he enjoyed worshipping his Lord and spending time with his church family. An avid outdoorsman, Lester enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising and flying his pigeons, and spending time building things with his grandchildren. His family was his world. From the grandkids coming over cracking the pigeon eggs against the tin building, to riding for hours looking for hawks, organizing a turkey hunt, or going to the sales, Lester was happiest spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his father, Mr. Tarlton was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tommie D. Tarlton, Thomas E. “Ed” Tarlton, and infant brother, David Tarlton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, who was the “queen of his heart,” Susan Donahue Tarlton of the home; sons, Chris (Melonie) Tarlton of Mt. Croghan, SC, Dewayne (Melissa) Tarlton of Cassatt, SC, and Lee (Allison) Copeland of Jefferson, SC; daughters, Tabitha (Michael) Carnes of Jefferson, SC, and Shelly (Josh) Bailey of Lancaster, SC; mother, Margie D. Tarlton; grandchildren, Ashley Holman, Taylor Nannie, Britt Tarlton, Alex Tarlton, Devon Simpson, Hunter Tarlton, Elizabeth Oliver, Landon Oliver, Zoey Copeland, Ava Austin, Harlee Copeland, Kaleb Carnes, Chloe Carnes, Lily Bailey, and Jagur Bailey; siblings, Freddie (Barbara) Tarlton, Dianne Mangum both of Jefferson, SC, Faye (Rev.
