FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Macedonia Baptist Church

INTERMENT: will follow in the church cemetery

VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home

HISTORY: Mrs. Helms was born February 7, 1918 in the Angelus Community, a daughter of the late William Hampton and Eliza Horton Middleton. She was a graduate of Angelus High School and a retired employee of Springs Industries Grace Bleachery. Mrs. Helms was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Golden Climbers, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a former Chesterfield County Council on Aging Board member. She enjoyed crocheting and ceramics and sharing her handiwork with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Loree was preceded in death by her husband, Brice Jackson Helms; daughter-in-law, Mary Etta Teal Helms; four brothers, William Hampton Middleton, Jr., Henry Brunson Middleton, Hugh Cantey Middleton, and Lennie Howard Middleton; and by two sisters, Susie Middleton Horton and Lillie Hope Middleton.

1 Daughter: Lou Ellen (Ray - "Jiggs") Clark of McBee, SC
6 Grandchildren: Rod (Kaye) Clark of Chesterfield, SC, Shauna (Tony) Newell of Jefferson, SC, Stephanie (Chris) Tiller of McBee, SC, John (Susan) Helms of Society Hill, SC, Johnny (Angela) Helms of Atlanta, GA, and Chanda Helms of Gilbert, SC
