Loretta Brock Burton

Loretta Brock Burton, 79, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents: Samuel and Vermelle Brock; two grandsons: Albert Clifton Parks, Joseph Mark Ransom;a great-ganddaughter: Angelica Parks; two sisters: Celia Johnson, Myra Joplin and one brother: Buddy Brock. Loretta is survived by six sons: Danny Parks of Cheraw, SC, Phillip Parks and wife Beverly of Elizabethtown, Sammy Parks and wife Teresa of Whiteville, Paul Parks of Bladenboro, John Wayne Parks and wife Loriee Lee of Council, Alfred Schmitt and wife Margie of Whiteville; one daughter: Joy Musselwhite of Clarkton; two brothers: David Brock and wife Sara of Cheraw, SC, Ricky Brock and wife Toni of Cheraw, SC; four sisters: Brenda Rawlings of Darlington, Judy Herdon of Cheraw, Sheila Gibson and husband Jimmy of Chesterfield, Pamela Lee and husband Ricky of Cheraw; fifteen grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren.

Loretta was a hardworking lady who loved her home life and family dearly. Loretta enjoyed to crochet, cook, garden, search and find puzzles, and reading. She liked many animals, peacocks, rabbits, quail, chickens and her small dogs. Loretta will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 2nd from 6-8pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 3rd at 10am in the Brock’s Mill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cheraw, SC with Rev. Donald Wallace, Jr. officiating service.

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home ( www.mrcfuneralhome.com ) of Chesterfield, SC is handling the local arrangements for the Burton family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bladen County Animal Shelter 506 Smith Circle Elizabethtown, NC 28337. If flowers are purchased, we ask that it be something the family can take home due to the traveling to Cheraw, SC for graveside service.
