DECEASED: Mrs. Lou Roue Sutton Lee, age 75, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 2, 2016

CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE: 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Westfield Creek Baptist Church

INTERMENT: to follow in the Westfield Creek Baptist Church Cemetery

VISITATION: 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home

HISTORY: Mrs. Lee was born February 18, 1941 in Pageland, SC a daughter of the late Woodrow William and Maggie Lena Aline Horne Sutton, and received Christ and was born again in April of 1954. She was a former employee of Norris Interiors, Robertson Factory and J.P. Stevens / Delta Mills from which she retired as supply manager after 32 years of service. Mrs. Lee was a faithful member of Westfield Creek Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher, having taught every age from beginners to the senior adult class. She also served as a V.B.S. teacher and was very active on the V.B.S. kitchen committee. Lou Roue was a member of the adult choir and was former youth choir director. She was a member and past president of the W.M.U., member of the bereavement committee, member of the shut-in and nursing home CD outreach ministry, and served on various other committees throughout the years. She was a member of the Cheraw chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, having served as Worthy Matron on 5 different occasions, and in other positions within the chapter. Mrs. Lee was also a member of the Gideon’s Ladies Auxiliary. Lou Roue was an avid reader who enjoyed working crossword puzzles, traveling, studying God’s word, gardening and preserving vegetables and fruits. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends, especially Trey, Courtney and Louise. She also had a deep love for animals, with dogs being her favorite. Lou Roue was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and loving mother to her son-in-law and daughter-in-law. Mrs. Lee was a lady of grace and dignity that always looked and smelled pretty. She freely shared her great faith in and love for Jesus. She will be remembered as a witness of God’s great love and goodness with a great sense of humor who always saw the lighter side. In addition to her parents, Lou Roue was also preceded in death by her husband and soul mate of over 50 years, Richard Rudolph Lee, Sr.; and her brother, V.L. “Buck” Sutton.

Grandchildren: Richard R. “Trey” Lee, III, Courtney E. Lee, William (Lisa) Skipper all of Cheraw, SC, and Rodney (Teresa Moser) Hall of Marshville, NC
Great Grandchildren: Madeline, Samuel and Chandler Lee Hall, Molly and Jodi O’Neal
Sister: Elsie Rutan of Fayetteville, NC
Brothers: Randolph “Dolph” Sutton of Wallace, SC and John David “Johnny” (Pat) of Hartsville, SC
Sister-in-law: Essie Sutton of Cheraw, SC
Grandsons of Choice: Spence (Jennifer) Vaughn and their children Colin and Addison, and Brent (Brooke) Taylor and their children Anna Belle and Ava
Daughter of the Heart: Lynn Cassidy (John) Sullivan
Special Nieces and Nephews: Nicole Lee (Quetin) Austin, Bobby Lee, Melissa (Clint) Reed, and Shane Reed whom she loved as grandchildren
Sisters of the Heart: Louise Brock (her bestest friend), Barbara Morris, Dorothy Zearfoss, Wanda White, Margaret Jones, and Betty Teal
Special Family Friend: Clinton Ratliff
Numerous Nieces and Nephews
And her fur babies: Socks, Trixie and Sparky
