Mrs. Lula Mae Malloy, age 81, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Forest Pine Church by Rev. Julius Bunch and Phillip C. Caulder, Jr. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, October 3, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Malloy was born January 4, 1935 in Elizabethtown, NC a daughter of the late Percy Howard Moore and Ancedill Cole Gainey. She was a member of Forest Pine Church, where she faithfully served as Pastor’s wife for over 30 years. Her passion and ministry revolved around church. She enjoyed reading and studying God’s word, sending cards and making phone calls to encourage others, and was a Godly prayer warrior. Mrs. Malloy was a true people person who enjoyed shopping and going out to eat with her friends. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and listening to gospel bluegrass music. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren and many others as, “MaMae.” Mrs. Malloy was the last surviving member of her immediate family, and had a special bond with her cousin, Buddy Cole, Jr.

In addition to her parents, Lula Mae was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Rev. Thomas J. Malloy, Jr.; 2 sisters, Margaret and Peggy Moore; and 2 grandsons, Bryan R. Malloy and Michael Dean Malloy.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Richard T. “Ricky” Malloy and wife Geraldine, Rev. Danny R. Malloy and wife Teresa, and Joseph C. “Joey” Malloy and wife Lisa all of Cheraw, SC; 1 daugther, Cindy E. Wallace and husband William of Cheraw, SC; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Kaydra McCoy, Jessica Blackwell, Tammy Stover, and the entire staff of Hospice of Chesterfield County for the love and care shown to Mrs. Malloy during her illness.
