Mrs. Sullivan was born August 7, 1959 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Benjamin Carson Cassidy, Jr. and Billie Anne Freeman Cassidy Gardner. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High School, Class of 1978, and was a student bus driver. Lynn moved to West Palm Beach, FL in 1979 and lived there until returning to Cheraw, SC in July of 2018. A devoted and beloved wife, mom, “Mimi,” and “Mom-in-law,” her family was her # 1 priority and light of her life, with “her grandsons” being her greatest delight. She loved being a Mom and Mimi.
She was always very thoughtful and giving to others, and she was known for her creative talents and southern hospitality. Lynn was an organizer and consummate planner. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Great Smoky Mountains. She lived to drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Lynn and John’s home was always a refuge and safe haven for family and friends. She loved entertaining and was the greatest fan of movie theaters – a true movie lover. Lynn loved people and never met a stranger. A warm smile and a quick laugh were her trademark. She could speak volumes with her eyes, a trait she inherited from her mother. Her greatest heart calling was the Walk to Emmaus, having served in all areas…a true passion. She treasured her Emmaus family.
In addition to her parents, Lynn was also preceded in death by her brother, Kevin Doyle Cassidy; and most recently her beloved father-in-law, John L. Sullivan.
Those remaining to carry on her beautiful legacy include her devoted husband of 37 years, John Thomas Sullivan; son, Kaleb Cassidy of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Ashley Sullivan Goldberg and husband, Marc (whom she loved as a son); grandsons, Quentin Thomas Goldberg, Oliver Ellis Goldberg, and Wesley Vincent Goldberg; brothers, Todd (Teresa) Cassidy, and Derry Cassidy both of Chesterfield, SC; mother-in-law, Linda J. Sullivan of Cheraw, SC; and sister of the heart & best friend of 46 years, Carol Lee Hall of Cheraw, SC.
Memorials may be made to, Emmaus Ministries Office of The Upper Room, 1908 Grand Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.
