GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1:00 PM, Friday, September 7, 2012 at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery, Chesterfield, SC

Visitation will follow the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.

HISTORY: Mrs. Stroud was born June 27, 1917 in Chesterfield County, SC, a daughter of the late John Rayfield and Eliza Elma Jones. She lived most of her life in the Center Point Community of Chesterfield, and she and Flake were married for nearly 73 years. Madge was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church for many years. Her life was devoted to caring for her extended family. In addition to her parents, Madge was also preceded in death by her husband, Flake Stroud; granddaughter, Ginny Stroud; and brothers, Tom, Cary, and Reece Jones.

4 Children: Shelby Jean (Dr. David) Ingram of Chapel Hill, NC, Dr. Cary E. (Dr. Donna) Stroud of Greenville, SC, W. Ken (Gretchen) Stroud of Pinehurst NC, and Joel F. Stroud of Chesterfield, SC
5 Grandchildren: Lisa Williams (Dr. Flint) Gray of Boone, NC, Tom Williams of Seattle, WA, Susannah Stroud (Nolan) Wright of Palo Alto, CA, Don (Melissa) Stroud of Greenville, SC, and Katie Stroud of Huntersville, NC
2 Step Grandchildren: Dr. Daniel (Carol) Ingram of Huntsville, Al, and Nancy Ingram (Doug) Largent of Chapel Hill, NC,
3 Great Grandchildren: Lucy and Emily Gray, and Samantha Wright
Step Great Granddaughter: Jessica Largent
Brother: Lonnie Jones of High Point, NC
Sister: Margaret Sampson of Silver Springs, MD
Brother-in-law: Robert Stroud of Chesterfield, SC
