Madie "Jo" Tindall Merriman

Chesterfield, SC

Mrs. Madie “Jo” Tindall Merriman, age 90, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 6, 2022. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 PM Monday, February 14, 2022 at Shiloh United Methodist Church by Pastor Fred McDaniel and Brent Taylor. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church. A private family committal will be held at a later date.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve. We also ask all guests and family members attending visitations and services to please continue social distancing and if desired to bring and wear a mask.

Mrs. Jo Merriman was born January 15, 1932 in Houlka, MS a daughter of the late Bedford Forrest Tindall and Calla Mae Hill Fields. She was a homemaker and a retired Chesterfield County Schools employee. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jo enjoyed shopping at her favorite store, Belk’s and cooking family dinner on Sunday and eating out. She especially enjoyed hosting the annual family Christmas dinner as long as she was able. She was well known for her weekly hair appointments at Jan’s Hairstyles and her fashionable attire.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Merriman was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, I.B. Merriman; sisters, Barbara, Jean, and Helen; and brothers, Van and Garner.

Survivors include her son, I.B. Merriman, Jr. (Joyce); daughter, JoAnn Merriman (Peter); grandson, I.B. “Trey” Merriman, III (Juliann); granddaughters, Christy Merriman, and Khaki Wieters; great grandsons, Easton and Huck; and sister, Mary Jeff Pierce (whom looked to Mrs. Jo as her mother figure, more than sister.)
