Margaret Boone Cassett

Ms. Margaret Boone Cassett, age 86, entered into rest on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2018 at Center Grove Baptist Church by Pastor Charles Terry and Rev. Charles Watkins with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Monday, prior to the service at the church, 22971 Hwy. 9, Mt. Croghan, SC

Ms. Cassett was born December 22, 1931 in Kershaw, SC a daughter of the late Corley and Maudie Cassidy Boone. She was a former employee of Springs Industries of Lancaster, Mar-Mac of McBee, SC, and Chesterfield County Council on Aging. She was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. Margaret enjoyed reading and listening to God’s word, and in 1983 was ordained as a Chaplain to minister in the hospitals and prisons. In the early 80’s it was her vision to organize and start the Action Team Prayer Band for youth in Chesterfield County and surrounding areas.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rachel Boone and Judy Sikes; half-brother, Evie Eugene Boone, and half-sister, Naomi Boone.

Survivors include her siblings, Alton (Margaret) Boone of Lancaster, SC, Susie (Wade) Wright of Heath Springs, SC, and C.L. (Diane) Boone of Kershaw, SC; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
