DECEASED: Mr. William Mark Gibson, age 46, died Saturday, March 3, 2007, following a sailboat accident on Lake Wateree.
SERVICE: A Private Family Graveside Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at White Oak Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Ruby, SC. A worship service celebrating Mark's life was held at 3:30 P.M. Saturday, March 17, 2007 at White Oak Presbyterian Church, where he was a member.
HISTORY: Mr. Gibson was born in Chesterfield, SC a son of Atha Lou Freeman Gibson and the late Billy G. Gibson. At an early age he moved with his family to Sanford, N.C. where he grew up. After graduating from Lee Senior High School, he attended Montreat College, and then joined the U.S. Navy serving his country for 15 years and receiving numerous commendations. Mark moved to Camden in 2004. He graduated from Central Carolina Technical College, Sumter, in 2006 with a degree in Environmental Engineering Technologies. He was looking forward to beginning work with the City of Columbia Water Department in mid-March. In addition to being a talented artist, Mark meticulously designed and crafted models of sailing vessels with intricate detail.

Maternal Uncle and Aunt: Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Freeman of Chesterfield, S.C.
Paternal Aunt: Mrs. Mary G. Miller of Irmo, S.C.
Also: six Cousins; his Navy buddy, Chin Mendez of Elizabeth, N.C., and his steadfast furry companion, Gigi.
MEMORIALS: May be made to the S.C. Dept. of Natural Resources, the Camden Fire Dept., the Kershaw County Fire Service, or the White Oak Presbyterian Church Stained Glass Window Fund.
