HISTORY: Mrs. Garris was born February 21, 1936 in Marlboro County, SC a daughter of the late Willie Horne and Ethel Bridges Horne Walters. She was a graduate of Cheraw High School and received her nursing degree from Florence - Darlington Technical College. Mary Lou was a retired registered with Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, NC. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, and traveling. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, William Frank Garris; her step father, J.B. Walters; a son, John William Garris; a daughter, Ethel Ann Garris Quick; and by a grandson, Henley Lee "Trey" Jones, III.
