Mary Goodale

Mrs. Mary Davis Goodale, age 82, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Oakland Baptist Church by Rev. Julian Cato and Dr. Phillip Hunter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, July 29, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Goodale was born February 17, 1934 in Morven, NC a daughter of the late Reuben Nathan and Effie Jane White Davis. Mrs. Goodale, along with her husband, was the owner and operator of The Townhouse Restaurant for many years. She later retired from Chesterfield Manufacturing. At the age of 7, Mary accepted Christ as her Savior and faithfully served Him throughout her life. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and working in her flowers. Mrs. Goodale will be remembered for her generous, giving soul. She had a special place in her heart for animals and would rescue each and every one of them. Her family was of utmost importance to her and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary was also joyously reunited with the love of her life, Voyd G. Goodale, and her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son, V. Garland Goodale, Jr. and wife, Kristi of Chesterfield, SC; her daughter, Angela Goodale and fiancé, Gary Joslin of Sumter, SC; adopted son, Kenny Scott of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Christian J. Goodale and Kaleb Goodale; special nieces, Jane Boyle and Ann Hanson both of Signal Mtn., TN, Terry Rhyne of Wallace, NC, and numerous other nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Josephine Adams and Betty Jean Davis both of Kannapolis, NC, Jane Davis of Alexandria, VA, and Mickie Davis of Fl.; and beloved family friend, Frances Pruitt of Chesterfield, SC
