Mrs. Mary Grant Maloch, age 71, entered into rest on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, May 19, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by UMC Lay Speaker Vivian Lee and Pastor Max White with burial to follow in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mrs. Maloch was born February 16, 1953 in Wallace, SC a daughter of the late Rufus and Aline Brigman Grant. She was a graduate of Wallace High School and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. A devoted homemaker and caregiver, Mary spent much of her life caring for children in her home. She developed a special bond with each child she had the opportunity to invest in and help nurture. Mary also enjoyed working with crafts, shagging to beach music classics, and connecting with family and friends through her social media accounts. Of all things that brought her joy, spending time with her family and gaining the title of “Ma-Ma” was second to none.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Maloch was also preceded in death by her brothers, Wilbert Grant and Wesley Grant; and sister, Doris Goude.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, John “Johnny” Maloch, Jr. of the home; children, John (Christina) Maloch, III, Amber Maloch, and Holly (Jeremy) Haire of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Ashlyn Grace Maloch, and Allie Grayson Maloch; sister, Betty Curry of Cheraw, SC. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Glenda (Keith) Thomas, Adena (Scott) Hunter, Dawn Taylor, Janice Goude, Pam (Eric) Taylor, Lynne (David) Dowdy, Glenda Higgins, Charles Grant, Danielle (Monty) Crawford, Doug Grant, Scott (Sheila) Grant, Shari Fowler, Leigh (Jay) Philon, Jennifer (Chris) Chisam, Kimberly (Justin) Treadaway, and Greg (Melissa) Sellers; numerous great nieces and great nephews; daughter of the heart, Charlotte (Jason) King; grandchildren of the heart, Gracie King, Jake King, Addison Polson, Hunter Polson, Cassidy Blanchard, and Michael “Mikey” Bailey.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff and administration of McLeod Health – Cheraw, McLeod Health – Florence, and McLeod Hospice for the excellent care and support they provided for Mrs. Maloch and her family.
