History: Mrs. Rayfield was born August 3, 1930 in Morven, NC a daughter of the late James Paul and Annie Mae Adams Griggs. She was a former employee of Sacony and Ruby Hosiery Mill and was a retired employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Rayfield was a life long member of Sandy Plains United Methodist Church where she had served on various committees. Mary Ruth enjoyed talking on the phone with her friends, and eating at Carolina Restaurant and Bojangles. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Howard Clifton "Bill" Rayfield.

Survivors:
1 Son: Howard (Diane) Rayfield of Chesterfield, SC
1 Daughter: Joyce (Icky) Merriman of Chesterfield, SC
4 Grandchildren: Lt. Col. Paul (Mandy) Rayfield of Temecula, CA, serving in the U.S. Embassy in Lima Peru, Michelle Rayfield, Christy M. Watkins, and Trey (Juliann) Merriman all of Chesterfield, SC
4 Great Grandchildren: Gant, Bryce, Hannah, and Easton

The family would like to thank all the staff of Chesterfield Convalescent Center for the loving care given to their mother.
