          It is with deep sorrow but profound hope in Jesus that we announce the passing of Master Merritt Brooks Morgan, the beloved infant son of Brady Dylan and Carly Gulledge Morgan. Brooks entered the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from his mother’s womb. In their heartfelt Facebook announcement, his parents wrote: There is fullness of joy in HIS presence and we are so thankful for that but we are so heartbroken.

          The family is currently receiving visitors at their home throughout the weekend. A private committal service will be held at the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

          Brooks is now reunited with his sibling who entered Heaven in May 2023. He is also joined by several beloved family members who passed before him, including his maternal great grandfather Reverend Buck Gulledge, maternal great uncle Rick Gulledge, paternal great grandmother Debbie Miller, and paternal great uncle Robbie Bell.

          Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Brady & Carly Morgan of the home; big sister, McKinley Kay Morgan; maternal grandfather, Chip Gulledge of Ruby, SC; maternal great grandmother, Kay Gulledge of Ruby, SC; paternal grandfather, Scottie (Michelle) Morgan of Kershaw, SC; maternal uncle, Cory Adams (Cassie) of Columbia, SC; paternal uncle, Austin (Morgan) Miller of McBee, SC and their children, Adalynn & Amelia.

From the very beginning I loved you,
As I made plans to hold you and rock you:
You were tiny and helpless as you lay in my womb,
But something went wrong and soon you were gone;
My young heart was broken, my tears fell like rain,
I’d never known such heartache and pain.

I wonder who you look like, me or your dad,
Do you have my smile and his eyes?
Would you have been big and tall or tiny and small?
We had dreams for you that reached to the skies.
It was long, long ago and I still miss you so,
Thanks to Jesus, I’ll see you in heaven.

I’ll hold you in heaven someday,
When my trials on earth pass away;
The angels have rocked you, the Father watches over you,
I know you’re waiting for me;
I never could hold you or tell you “Goodbye”,
But I’ll hold you in heaven someday.
