Mattie "Lori" Smith Torres

Mrs. Mattie “Lori” Smith Torres, age 52, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 3 O'Clock PM on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the Jefferson Church of God.

Mrs. Torres was born May 27, 1970 in Fairfield County, SC a daughter of the late Levi Smith and Frances Kelley Woodard. Lori’s family was her greatest love. She enjoyed spending all her time with her grandchildren and children. Lori selflessly cared for her loving mother until her passing in December. Lori will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and daughter.

In addition to her parents, Lori was also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Gainey; and grandson, Dalton Nelson.

Survivors include her husband, Juan Torres Vega of Jefferson, SC; daughters, Stephanie (Alex Cruz) Smith of Pageland, SC, Brittany (Jose Rivas) Gainey of Mt. Croghan, SC, and Christa (Matt Nelson) Gainey of Mt. Croghan, SC, and their father, William Gainey Jr. of Kershaw, SC; son of the heart, Mason Elks of Indian Trail, NC; grandchildren, Nevaeh Duran, Nicholas Smith-Cruz, Caiden Gudino-Gainey, Anthony Smith-Cruz, Audrina Nelson, McKenzie Gudino-Gainey, Natalya Smith-Cruz, Bentley Gudino-Gainey, Grayson Gudino-Gainey; parents of the heart, Jimmy and Cindy Kirkley; brother, Herbert (Tracy) Smith and nephews, Austin Smith, Jacob Smith, and Cameron Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home to assist the family.
