Ms. Melony Rayfield Edwards, age 55, formerly of Chesterfield, SC, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. A Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2020 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Dr. Ronnie Grizzle with burial to follow in the Thompson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ms. Edwards was born June 3, 1964 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Jadie and Nona Sue Smart Rayfield. She was a 1982 graduate of Chesterfield High School where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. Melony was a member of David’s Grove Baptist Church and was the former owner and operator of Sandhills Cellular of Cheraw. A lady who enjoyed being outdoors, she was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers.

In addition to her parents, Melony was also preceded in death by 2 uncles, James Murray Rayfield and wife Jeri, Donald Joe Rayfield; and aunt, Evelena Rayfield.

Survivors include her son, Ben (Beth) Whittenton of Meggett, SC; grandchildren, Wyatt and Noah Whittenton; brother, Jadie Rayfield of Mt. Pleasant, SC; uncles, Gerald P. Rayfield of Patrick, SC and Charles B. Rayfield and wife Dawn of Cheraw, SC; aunts, Margie R. Gaskins and husband Monroe of Chesterfield, SC, Bonnie R. Rollins and husband Calvin of Ruby, SC, and Rose Etta Schumacher and husband Bill of Chesterfield, SC; and a host of friends.
