Mr. Scoggins was born April 14, 1948 in Rutherfordton, NC, a son of the late Dward and Irene Dixon Scoggins. He was a retired Staff Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War on a Pararescue Team. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed farming, raising cows, rescuing miniature horses, and taking care of his beloved dogs on the farm. A Harley Davidson enthusiast, his hobbies included motorcycle riding and recreational shooting. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Bennettsville.

Survivors include his wife, Meriba “Mib” Scoggins of the home; son, Dixon (Lauren) Scoggins of Simpsonville, SC; granddaughter, Ellery Scoggins of Simpsonville, SC; brother, Robert (Mary) Scoggins of Palm Coast, FL; Niece, Danielle Scoggins; Nephew, Robert Scoggins, Jr.; and great niece, Keva Scoggins.
