Mrs. Nancy Melton Mangum, 71, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland by Phillip C. Caulder, Jr. The family will greet friends immediately following the graveside service and at other times at the home of Janet Mangum.
Mrs. Mangum was born October 22, 1945 in Florence, SC a daughter of the late Willie “Buddy” Melton and Nelle Odom Hancock. She was a charter member of New Covenant Baptist Church and volunteered many years at New Covenant Christian School in the Pre-school department and as a teacher’s aide. Mrs. Mangum loved her Lord, music, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Gerald Davis; and 1 sister, Ruby Davis Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jimmy Mangum of the home; 2 daughters, Jamie (Nick) Griffin of Peachland, SC, and Kelly (Jerry) Kirby of Jefferson, SC; 4 grandchildren, Tyler Parker, Logan Parker, Lilly Elizabeth Kirby, and Emilyn Jayne Kirby; 1 brother, T.C. Davis of Bossier City, LA; Niece and Sister of the heart, Linda Matthews of Columbia, SC; also nieces and nephews.
The family cordially requests that memorials be made in Mrs. Mangum’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
