Nannie Rivers

Chesterfield, SC

Mrs. Nannie Lisenby Rivers entered into rest on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Monday, November 21, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ed Traxler and Phillip Caulder, Jr. with burial to follow in the Rivers Family Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rivers was born July 18, 1924 in Wadesboro, NC a daughter of the late Jefferson Davis and Lottie Adams Lisenby. She was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church, where she was a faithful choir member, member of the U.M.W., and member of the Ladies Sunday school class #9. Nannie enjoyed square dancing, shopping, and traveling with her beloved late husband, “Lem”. Some of her other hobbies included gardening, working in her flowers and yard, and spending time her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Nannie was also preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel Hall Rivers; brothers, Albert, Perry, Lowden, Knowlton Roy, and Thomas Lisenby; sisters, Ethel Moore, Mary Belle Honeycutt, and Dethane Molaro.

Survivors include her children, Nancy (Tom) Freeman of Burlington, NC, Steve (Mary Lynn) Rivers, and Joel (Donna) Rivers both of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Ben (Rebecca) Freeman of Cary, NC, Mark Edward (Kelli) Freeman of Palo Alto, CA, Katy (Matthew) Anderson of Greensboro, NC, Brian (Mandy) Rivers, Eric (Krystin) Rivers, and Elizabeth (Kip) Moss all of Chesterfield, SC, Jessica (Emilio Cobanera) Rivers of Vermont, Laura Rivers of Chesterfield, SC, and Karen (Austin) Caulder of Cheraw, SC; 18 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
