Mrs. Novella McLain Jacobs, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, February 5, 2022 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Jerry Watson and Brent Taylor with burial to follow in the St. John Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2022 at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be streamed live on the Miller Rivers Caulder Funeral Home facebook page.

Mrs. Jacobs was born November 18, 1932 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Oscar Drew and Rosa Lee Boan McLain. She was a homemaker and former employee of McLain Insurance. A member of Ruby Baptist Church, Novella enjoyed reading and studying God’s word, and was a faithful Pastor’s wife for many years. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds, and cooking for her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jacobs was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Reverend Ralph H. Jacobs, Sr.; brothers, John Russell McLain, and Barney Gilbert McLain; brothers-in-law, Garland Anson Jacobs, Sr., Richard Scott Jacobs, Sr., and R.B. Campbell; sisters-in-law, Barbara Jacobs Campbell, and Ruth W. McLain; and her son, Reverend John Mark Jacobs.
Survivors include her sons, Ralph Hubert (Debbie) Jacobs, Jr. of Cheraw, SC, and Martin Scott (Paula) Jacobs of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Tish (Jamie) Campbell, Tara Jacobs, Trina (Ashley Phillips) Jacobs, Tamara Jacobs, Drew Jacobs, Ana-Hayley Jacobs, Caleb (Jasmine) Jacobs, Graham Jacobs, Luke Jacobs, Dorothy “Dottie” Jacobs, and Emma Jacobs; 13 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Janice H. Jacobs, and Rebekah R. Jacobs both of Cheraw, SC, and Suellyn C. McLain of Patrick, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks to special caregivers, Marlene Hernandez, Julick Deese, Lisa Hodge, Charlene Hodge; and the staff of McLeod Hospice for their excellent care, love, and support shown to Mrs. Jacobs and the family.
