Ola Faye Oliver Johnson

Jefferson, SC

          Mrs. Ola Faye Oliver Johnson, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Friday, August 18, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church by Pastor Tony Brewer with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church, 18 Campbell Road, Jefferson, SC and other times at the home of her daughter, Marty Ward.

          Mrs. Johnson was born June 19, 1943 in Pageland, SC a daughter of the late Arthur and Desnie Autry Oliver. A faithful Christian lady, Ola Faye was a life-long member of Antioch Baptist Church where she taught the Youth & Juniors Sunday school class. In her service to the Lord, Mrs. Johnson served Antioch Baptist as church pianist, secretary - treasurer, WMU Director, VBS Director, and in any other area that she was needed. She was also a member of the Friends of Calvary singing group.

          Mrs. Johnson enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to the beach, singing in church, and working on crafts when she was able. Most of all, she enjoyed living for the Lord and was quick to share her testimony, "I Love Jesus!"

          In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Johnson; son, Ricky “Little Red” Johnson; and brothers, Harvey Ray Oliver and Kenneth Oliver.

          Survivors include her children, Dennis (Charlene) Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Marty (Robert) Ward of Jefferson, SC; grandchildren, Desnie (Thomas) Faile of Lancaster, SC, Fairly (Marissa) Johnson of Griffin, GA, Ricky Johnson, Jr. of Hartsville, SC, Lisa (Chris) Barker of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sky Ward of Parker, CO, and Serena Ward of Jefferson, SC; great grandchildren, Nathan Faile, Lauren Faile, Autumn Faile, Alyssa Johnson, Brendalyn Johnson, James Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Bethany Johnson, Brianne Johnson, Clayton Kelly, Eli Baker, and Alyssa Baker; sisters, Rachel (Buddy) Winburn of McBee, SC, and Janice (Arnold) Lowery of Jefferson, SC; and her 4-legged companions, Duke, Sweetie, Toothless, and Fish.
