Olin H. Jacobs

Mr. Olin H. Jacobs, age 77, entered into rest on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at his home. The family will greet friends anytime on Friday and Saturday at the home, 215 Pittman Street, Chesterfield, SC and will host a private family service at a later date.

Mr. Jacobs was born January 17, 1941 in Chesterfield County, SC a son of the late Roy and Lurline Douglas Jacobs. Following his mother’s death, Olin was raised by his beloved aunt, the late Mary D. Purvis. A graduate of Ruby High School, Mr. Jacobs went on to attain his business degree from King College of Charlotte. He was a former employee of Sonoco and was the owner and operator of Mustang Car Wash Manufacturing. Mr. Jacobs was a member of the SC Army National Guard and attended White Oak Presbyterian Church. An avid Nascar fan, Olin enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his grandson.

In addition to his parents and aunt, Olin was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Harrington Jacobs; brothers, Jerry and Kenny Jacobs; and his step-mother Patricia Stancil.

Survivors include his 2 sons, Mark O. Jacobs and fiance, Casey Wiles and her daughter, Gabby of Clemmons, NC, and Scott H. Jacobs and wife, Shelia of Chesterfield, SC; grandson, Seth H. Jacobs; godchild, Kadee Herring and husband, Jason of Chesterfield, SC; brother, Carroll Jacobs and wife, Nancy of Chesterfield, SC; sister, Joy Hardison and husband, Lawson of Chesterfield, SC; life-long friend, Tommy Campbell of Chesterfield, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of McLeod Hospice for the love and care shown to Mr. Jacobs during his illness and request in lieu of flowers memorials be made in his memory to McLeod Hospice, P.O. Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502 or to a church of one’s choice.
