Mr. Ottis Theron Gulledge, age 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. A Service of Celebration will be 3:30 PM Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Ruby Baptist Church by Pastor Ronald Thurman and Pastor Mitch Gulledge. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve. We also ask all guests and family members attending visitations and services to please continue social distancing and face coverings are strongly encouraged.
Mr. Gulledge was born January 14, 1941 in Ruby, SC a son of the late Ottis and Mary B Tucker Gulledge. He attended Wingate Junior College and the University of South Carolina, and was retired employee of Continental Tire with over 30 years of service. A faithful member of Ruby Baptist Church, Theron served as a former Deacon and enjoyed being a part of the Men’s Fellowship. He loved the Lord and his church family dearly, and was unashamed to publicly worship the Lord. A true people person, with a larger-than-life personality and great sense of humor, to know Theron was to love him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gulledge was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Terry Gulledge and Jake Gulledge; and an infant brother, Mitchell Gulledge.
Survivors include his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Elaine C. Gulledge of the home; son, Pastor Mitch (Mary) Gulledge of Lancaster, SC; daughter-in-law, Denise Gulledge of Hoschton, GA; grandchildren, Brianna Gulledge, Cadee Gulledge, Hunter Gulledge, and Samuel Gulledge; brother, Roy (Juanita) Gulledge of Yorktown, VA; special friend of the family, Randy (Pam) King of Chesterfield, SC; and his beloved pets & companions, “Dixie,” and “Panda.”
Memorials may be made to Ruby Baptist Church to be used for the “Prayer Blanket Ministry, P.O. Box 5, Ruby, SC 29741 or to Regency SouthernCare Hospice, 205 E. Main Street, Chesterfield, SC 29709
