Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Eddins Rushing, age 72, went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, June 7, 2024 with her family by her side. Graveside services will be 4:00 PM Monday, June 10, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery by Reverend Kyle Stogner, Reverend Tim Williams, and Reverend Scott Wilson. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home of her son, Petey & Alicia Rushing.
Mrs. Rushing was born June 8, 1951 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Curnel and Sarah Oliver Eddins. She was a seamstress having worked in textiles for many years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Pat was also a lifetime member of the Jefferson Rescue Squad. “Granny Pat” as she was lovingly known, could usually be found outside working in her yard, riding her lawnmower, or spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rushing was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee “Pete” Rushing; sister, Bobbie Moore; brothers, William Outlaw, and Jimmy Eddins; brothers-in-law, George Moore, Bobby Thurman, Wylie Gainey, Howard Miller, Billy Stogner, and Joe Rushing; and sister-in-law, Vivian (Bruce) Williams.
Survivors include her son, Petey (Alicia) Rushing of Jefferson, SC; grandchildren, George Rushing, and Serenity Rushing; sisters, Doris Thurman, Bonnie Gainey, and Sue Stogner all of Jefferson, SC, and Joyce (Art) Bryant of Sun City Center, FL; sisters-in-law, Sue Eddins of Jefferson, SC, and Ethel Mae (Clark) Green of Columbia, SC; brother-in-law, Jimmy Rushing of Lancaster, SC; sisters of the heart, Martha (Cecil) Rorie, Margaret Oliver, Sue McMillan, Mary Hicks, Judy Williams, and Jo Ann Lynn.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to caregivers, Erica Greene, Pat Morgan, and Krystal Davenport for their excellent care and support they provided to Mrs. Rushing.
