Paul Joel Wallace, Jr. "Sonny Boy" was born March 31, 1947 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina, son of the late Paul Wallace, Sr. and Janie Mae Dixon Wallace. He was a Veteran proudly serving our country in the United States Army, going on to retire from Delta Mills. Paul faithfully served as a member of Springfield Church of God and enjoyed working with the Jail Ministry and Nursing Home Ministries. As a Veteran, he enjoyed being a member of the VFW and Amvets Club. His favorite hobbies were working on cars, classic trucks, and tractors, especially his own. He also enjoyed being a member of the Tractor Club. Paul was devoted to his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He will forever be missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed on to his Heavenly home on February 13, 2022 at the age of 74.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Edward Wallace; sisters, Ann Caulford, Carolyn Crowley, and Nita Faye Wallace.
Paul is survived by his wife, Linda Wallace of the home; daughters, Katina Brown (Garrett) of Rockingham, NC, Heather Norton (Chris) of Laurel Hill, NC, Angelia Chase (David) of Manassas, VA; step-mother, Dot Burr of Chesterfield, SC; sisters, Myrtle Ratliff of Cheraw, SC, Katherine Wright (Andy) of Pageland, SC, Patricia Davis (Wesley) of Chesterfield, SC, Betty Jo Hatchell of Rockingham, NC, Sherry Wallace of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Kassidy Brown, Austin Norton, Angelle Norton, Jerrica Floyd, Roy Chase, Nicholas Chase, great grandchildren, Joshua, Lucas, Jaysen, Michael; a special cousin, Bernice Bowling, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Springfield Church of God, officiated by Rev. David Shoemake and Rev. Richard Tyson. Burial with military honors will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
