Rachel Leigh Hammond Gulledge entered into rest on June 15, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 23rd at 11:00 in the Chesterfield Baptist Church sanctuary. Rachel will be interred at a later date in the Chesterfield Cemetery. The family will greet friends and family before and after the service, and at other times at the home of Jack and Luann Hammond on East Main Street, Chesterfield.
Rachel was born on December 31, 1981, in Greenwood, SC, to Jack Hammond, Jr., and Lynn Purdum Williams. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High School, class of 2000, and was a licensed massage therapist. She is remembered by her clients for her healing hands. She is remembered by her family and friends for her love, her beautiful smile, and her bright disposition. Rachel was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church and attended Faith Baptist Church in Hartsville, SC, for many years where her father-in-law is the pastor.
Survivors include her children, Allison Noelle Vaughn of Chesterfield, and James Thomas Gulledge of Hartsville; husband, Clint Gulledge of Hartsville SC; parents, Lynn Purdum (Doug) Williams of Frederick MD, and Jack (Luann) Hammond Jr, of Chesterfield SC; siblings, Travis Hammond of Columbia SC, and Hannah (Matthew) King of Chesterfield; niece, Mary Catherine Hammond of Columbia, and nephew, Kolin Campbell of Chesterfield; sister-in-law, Beth Gulledge.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Fannie Knight Scholarship fund at Chesterfield Baptist Church, 207 East Main St. Chesterfield SC 29709, or the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home at 212 Zoar Road, Chesterfield SC 29709.
