Mr. Ransom Blackwell, age 93, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. Graveside services will be 2 O’clock PM on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery by Danny Wilkerson and Pastor Tracy Gooding. The family will speak with those attending after the service at the cemetery.
Due to concerns with Covid-19, the family requests social distancing practices be followed for those attending the service.
Mr. Blackwell was born April 16, 1927 in McBee, SC a son of the late Early and Jessie Harrell Blackwell. Ransom was a crop farmer who enjoyed listening to bluegrass and gospel music. He also loved to trap and hunt birds, fishing, and going on day trips.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by his sisters, Erline Blackwell Moore and baby sister; infant brother, Bill Blackwell; brother-in-law, Knox Moore; and sister-in-law, Sarah Blackwell.
Survivors include his sister, Bonnie Bell Blackwell of Chesterfield, SC; brother, Gandhi Blackwell of Chesterfield, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Memorials may be made to International Association of Lions Clubs “Recycle for Sight” 162 Main St Chesterfield, SC 29709.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home (www.mrcfuneralhome.com) of Chesterfield, SC is serving the Blackwell family.
