Rawleigh "Neil" Stanley

Chesterfield, SC

 Mr. Rawleigh “Neil” Stanley, age 85, entered into rest on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Hopewell Baptist Church by the Honorable Rep. Pastor Richie Yow with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Thursday, prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Stanley was born August 28, 1938 in Warrensville, NC a son of the late Paul and Ruby Roten Stanley. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired employee of INA Bearing with over 40 years of service. Neil was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Millers Creek, NC. He enjoyed fishing and was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stanley was also preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford Stanley and Daymon Stanley; and sister, Pauline McKinney.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Melba Elliott Stanley of the home; 2 sons, Mark (Michelle) Stanley of Chesterfield, SC, and Chris Stanley of Advance, NC; grandson, Owen Stanley; sisters, Mary Puperi of Akron, OH, and Sandra (Alex) Garcia of Bethlehem, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
