Mr. Ray W. Dixon, age 87, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at his home with his family by his side. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, October 20, 2019 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Burke Hoffman and Rev. Grady Baskins with burial to follow in the Dixon Family Cemetery, 593 Scott Pond Road, Hartsville, SC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Mr. Dixon was born December 20, 1931 in Chesterfield County, SC a son of the late Lillie Dixon and William Curtis Bullard. He was a retired employee of Stanley Tools and enjoyed fishing, and watching wrestling. Ray had a great personality and was always making others laugh.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dixon was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Purvis Dixon; sons, James and Richard Dixon; grandson, William Daniel Dixon; brothers, Clyde, Carrigan, Earlie Paul, and E.J. Dixon; and sisters, Vera Dixon and Theresa D. Outlaw.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Cheek Dixon; children, Louise D. (Scott) Moore, William David (Donna) Dixon, Lisa Dianne Farmer, Mary J. (Chon Sanchez) Dixon; stepchildren, Albert Wood, Jr., Dale (Tim) Wood, Jeffrey Butler, and Alex (Alexica) Wood; grandchildren, Roger (Stephanie) Moore, Brian (Jennifer) Moore, Nicole Sellers, James Ray (Stephanie) Dixon, II, Amanda (Shane) Atkinson, Michelle (Joshua) Dorsey, James Norton, Jr., Terri Truett, Jerry Truett, Weldon Dixon, Maria Dixon, Marie (Josh) Griggs, Timmy Winburn, Joshua (Brittany) Farmer, and Shane Farmer; great grandchildren, Jordan Moore, Kallie Moore, Lacey Moore, April Wooten, Emerson Moore, James Sellers, Hunter Sellers, Jessi Sellers, Harmoni Sellers, James Ray Dixon, III, Raylee Dixon, Rozella Dixon, Taylor Matteson, David Paul Matteson, Jr., Caleb Matteson, Joshua Farmer, Jr., Zoey Farmer, Leland Farmer, Jensen Farmer, Tre’shaun Truett, Jasmine Truett, Jace Truett, Lexis Dorsey, Chase Dorsey, Karson Atkinson, Konnor Atkinson, Will Anderson, Lillie McLain, Paislee Dixon, and Kailan Smith; step grandchildren, Ladasia Wood, Donesia Wood, Stormy Wood, Nicholi Wood, Tyler Chapman, Brian Butler, Britley Butler, Kaylee Butler, Michael Butler, and Jay Butler and step great grandchild, Chason Schaff.
