Mrs. Retha Demby Jacobs, age 77, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at her home. Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Friday, June 2, 2017 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Phillip Caulder, Jr. with burial to follow in the Chesterfield Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:30 to 4:00 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jacobs was born September 18, 1939 in Chesterfield County, SC a daughter of the late Webster L. and Bertha Brown Demby. She was a faithful member of White Oak Presbyterian Church and the former owner and operator of Retha’s Beauty Shop. Mrs. Jacobs was a true people person who never met a stranger. Her love of people was exemplified through her volunteer work with Hospice of Chesterfield County. Retha loved helping Hospice patients as she would provide hair cuts in the home and she enjoyed meeting new friends at the Sunshine Shoppe. She will be remembered for her love of God, her family, and shopping.

In addition to her parents, Retha was also preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Jacobs; daughter, Sonya Ann Jacobs; and brother, Olin Demby.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Teresa Teal of Pageland, SC and Tonya Jacobs of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Michael (Tori) Teal, and Mandy (Randall) Mullis both of Pageland, SC; 2 great grandchildren, Aubrey Eubanks and Macy Mullis; brother, Freddie Demby of Chesterfield, SC; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Demby of Chesterfield, SC
