Rev. Charles Ronald “Ronnie” Caulder, age 70, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 27, 2018 at his home. Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Danny Malloy with burial to follow in the Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Rev. Caulder was born December 26, 1947 in Chesterfield County, SC a son of the late Charles F. and Mary Nathalie Short, and was raised by his late step-mother, Dezzie Hall Caulder. Following his graduation from Cheraw High School, Ronnie served in the S.C. Army National Guard. He was a former employee of Sonoco Products and an assistant manager with Mack’s 5 & 10. He worked for many years in the Insurance business and developed many friendships there.

In the early 1990’s, Rev. Caulder accepted the call into the Gospel Ministry and pastored Bethesda UMC and Wilkes Chapel UMC and faithfully ministered in the local retirement homes for over 20 years. Preacher Ronnie was currently pastoring Sandy Plains UMC, Shiloh UMC, and Pleasant Hill UMC in the Morven, NC UMC charge. His passion was sharing God’s love and plan of salvation to everyone he came in contact with.

One of Preacher Ronnie’s favorite pastimes was fishing. He hosted a men’s prayer meeting at his home each Thursday evening, and enjoyed the fellowship and would often provide a fish fry. In addition to being a man of God, Rev. Caulder was also a devoted husband and caretaker to his loving wife and family.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Caulder was also reunited in heaven with his grandson, Joshua Ryan Davis.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Linda M. Caulder of the home; children, Elizabeth Caulder Chestnut of Florence, SC, Chuck Caulder of Georgetown, SC, Tirzah (David) Richardson of Florence, SC, Ganem K. (Tessa) Cartwright, III, and Michelle Rae Spivey both of Cheraw, SC; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Sherrie (Jerry) Chapman of Cheraw, SC, Cathey (Randy) Bedford of Columbia, SC, and Susan (John) Jennings of Liberty Hill, SC; aunt, Janie Howle of Cheraw, SC; and cousin, Tony (Beth) Caulder of Winnsboro, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
