FUNERAL SERVICE: will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Thompson Creek Baptist Church.
INTERMENT: will follow in the Mt. Croghan Memorial Park
VISITATION: 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, February 16, 2015 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home and other times at the home of Denise Davis, 25 Sandy Plains Road, Chesterfield, SC
HISTORY: Rev. Stowe was born March 2, 1934 in Charlotte, NC a son of the late Rev. John William and Stella Moffatt Stowe. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War, and a member of Thompson Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Stowe was a multi-talented master machinist, gunsmith, locksmith, magician, and ventriloquist. He was affectionately known as the "Professor" because he had great knowledge in many areas. Of all the things Preacher Doug enjoyed, his greatest passion was sharing the love of Christ with others. He was ordained into the Gospel Ministry by Rockwell Baptist Church of Mooresville, NC in the early 1960's and after moving to South Carolina served the following churches as Pastor, Mt. Croghan Baptist, Oakland Baptist, David's Grove Baptist, and Thompson Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Preacher Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Doris H. Stowe; 5 brothers, Forrest, Daniel, Gary, Randy, and Vernon Stowe; and by 1 sister, Brenda S. Thompson.
