Reverend John Mark Jacobs

Reverend John Mark Jacobs, age 51, entered into rest on Monday, November 12, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 PM Thursday, November 15, 2018 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Rev. Howie Lederfind, Marty Jacobs, Jim Stubbs, and Caleb Jacobs with burial to follow in the St. John Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday from 1:00 – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Reverend Jacobs was born April 6, 1967 in Augusta, GA a son of Rev. Ralph H. and Novella McLain Jacobs. He was a 1985 graduate of Chesterfield High School, and furthered his education by obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of South Carolina, and his Master of Divinity degree from Columbia International University. Following his graduation, John entered into full-time ministry serving as Associate Pastor to many churches and supplied the pulpit to many area churches throughout the years.

A man who lived his life with a desire of helping others, John enjoyed coaching and mentoring young people. He enjoyed his time as the director of the Chesterfield Family YMCA where he reconnected with many friends. A member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, John was a talented musician and songwriter and used his God given talents to bless others. He was also an avid reader, and always enjoyed hosting and leading bible studies.

Survivors include his wife, Beth Noble Jacobs of the home; children, Caleb (Jasmine) Jacobs of Utah, Graham Jacobs of N. Dakota, Luke Jacobs, Dorothy “Dottie” Jacobs, Emma Jacobs, Hailey Noble, and Madison Noble all of SC; parents, Rev. Ralph & Novella Jacobs of Chesterfield, SC; 2 brothers, Ralph Hubert (Debbie) Jacobs, Jr. of Cheraw, SC, and Martin Scott (Paula) Jacobs of Murrells Inlet, SC; also numerous nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends.
