DECEASED: Rev. William Hugh “Billy” Wood, age 74, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, 318 E. Main Street, Chesterfield, SC

INTERMENT: Will follow in the Lower Macedonia Memorial Gardens

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Sunday prior to the service at the Funeral Home

HISTORY: Rev. Wood was born February, 18, 1941 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Melvin B. and Ethel White Wood. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and a retired agent with Liberty Life Insurance Company. Rev. Wood pastored Wayside Baptist in Bishopville, SC, Pine Ridge Baptist and Lake Robinson Baptist in Hartsville, SC, and Pleasant Hill Baptist in Cheraw, SC. He was a member of Lower Macedonia Baptist Church. He as passionate about southern gospel music, and sang with the Pilgrims Quartet and the Invitations Quartet. He LOVED playing the piano.

Brother: James B. (Joyce) Wood, Sr. of Chesterfield, SC
Sisters: Rachel (Johnny) Gaskins, Mary (Rev. Donald) Wallace, and Lynn Davidson all of Chesterfield, SC, Carol (Greg) Traini of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Joyce W. Davis of Bennettsville, SC
