Mr. Richard Lee “Buddy” Driggers passed away surrounded by family on March 26, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
Mr. Driggers was born September 2, 1950 in Anson County, North Carolina, a son of the late Lee Roy Driggers and Virginia Starling. He served 4 years in the US Air Force, including one year in Vietnam. An avid outdoorsman, Buddy enjoyed spending time in the garden and watching the sunsets. He was a dedicated family man who loved his children and grandchildren deeply.
In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his stepfather, Wesely Starling; Sister, Cindy Cox; stepson, Timothy MacDonald; and nephews, Timothy Gaskins and David Driggers.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Driggers; Children, Kelli (David) Gainey, and Brandy (Gene) Teal; Grandchildren, Melody (Chandler) Owings, Wesley “Wes” Teal, Victoria Gainey; Great-Grandchild, Hank Owings; Brother, Butch (Brenda) Driggers; Sister, Mary Gaskins; Children of the heart, Richard MacDonald and April Driggers; Grandchildren of the heart, Joshua (Amber), Bryon, and Rebecka; Great-Grandchildren of the heart, Emmett, Carter, Jasper, Amelia, and Aava; Special Brother-in-law, “Pat” Cox; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials contributions can be made to the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422.
