DECEASED: Mr. Richard O. "Dick" Stucker, age 87, went home to be with his Lord, on Monday, September 3, 2012, with his loving wife by his side.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Providence Baptist Church
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: will follow at 3:00 PM, Thursday, September 6, 2012 in the Quaker Cemetery, Camden, SC
VISITATION: is 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Providence Baptist Church.
HISTORY: Mr. Stucker was born November 11, 1924 in Louisville, KY, a son of the late Harold Stucker, Sr. and Emma L. Stucker Sells. He was a graduate of Ohio State University, where he received a degree in Chemical Engineering, and taught night classes in math and played football for 2 years. After college, Dick joined the U.S. Marines, and bravely served his country during WWII. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
Mr. Stucker was a retired Chemical Engineer with the Dupont Plant in Camden, SC. While in Camden, Dick was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church, where he also was a member of the Choir, Sunday school teacher, and served in various other positions. He also assisted in the beginning of a church sponsored by the First Baptist Church. He served in the Gideon Ministry in various positions. Dick was an artist and a member of the Art League. His paintings won various Ribbons and Honors.
After moving to Pageland, he was a member of Providence Baptist Church, where he loved serving his Lord. He continued in the Gideon Ministry, where he served in all the camp offices at various times, as well as serving in the SC state positions. Dick especially loved the jail/prison ministry and the scripture distributions. He was also member of the Smith Graves American Legion Post # 92. He loved young people, and was again a substitute teacher, known affectionately as "Mr. Dick". Continuing with his art, he joined the Monroe, NC art league where he won various Ribbons and Best in Show Painting. Dick's last painting was for Providence Baptist Church, a painting containing the different church buildings through the years. In addition to his parents, Dick was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Stucker, Jr.

Also 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren

Sister-in-law: Ronna S. (Joe) Johnson of Cheraw, SC
Brother-in-law: Gary L. (Jane) Snipes of Assumption, IL
