Piedmont - Richard Thomas Teal, 74, husband of Cheryl Penny Teal, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023.

Born in Chesterfield County, he was a son of Temple Bell Gulledge Teal of Chesterfield and the late John Robert Teal. A member of the SC National Guard, he retired from Caterpillar in Simpsonville. Richard was also a member of the Living History 2nd South Carolina Rifles Civil War Reenactment. He was a born again Christian and lived his life by example for his wife and children.

In addition to his wife and his mother, he is survived by daughter, Sarah Teal of Greenville; son, John Teal of Easley; brothers, Devoid Teal (Mary) and Jimmy Teal (Sharon); and sister, Annie Teal, all of Chesterfield.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Gray Mortuary.
