DECEASED: Mr. Robert Carroll "Bobby" Melton, age 75, died Saturday, December 6, 2008, at his home.

VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday December 8, 2008 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Private FAMILY GRAVESIDE SERVICES: 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery.

HISTORY: Mr. Melton was born April 12, 1933 in Chesterfield, SC, a son of the late Thomas Levi and Lela Rivers Melton. He attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC and was a 1966 graduate of Clemson University. He was an Electrical Engineer with DuPont, and retired after 33 years of dedicated service, including working his last 3 years in India. Mr. Melton was a U. S. Navy Veteran with 10 years of service, and was a member of Chesterfield Presbyterian Church. Bobby was an avid Clemson fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Lathan, Murdice, Jerry, William Floyd, and J. H. Melton, and by 2 sisters, Bessie M. Oliver and Essie M. Sellers.

SURVIVORS:
Wife of 51 years: Sarah "Anna" Via Melton of the home.

2 Sons: Robert Carroll Melton, Jr. of Leland, NC and Jeffrey Dean Melton of Dillon, SC

1 Daughter: Theresa "Terry" Lynn Melton of Kennesaw, GA

3 Sisters: Louise Gulledge, Sybil Muir, and Sadie Clark all of Chesterfield, SC
