Interment: will follow in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens

Visitation: 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Funeral Home

History: Mr. Hayes was born November 8, 1952, in Bennettsville, SC, a son of the late Richard and Mary Brown Hayes. He was a graduate of Cheraw High School and a gage lab technician with
INA USA having been employed for 31 years. Ray was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandson, Kyler and with his family. He was an avid sports fan, and his favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and the Carolina Gamecocks. Ray coached over 28 years and officiated youth and ladies softball. He recently coached "buddy ball". He enjoyed gardening and sharing vegetables and spending time at the beach with family, friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, Ray was also preceded in death by a sister, Pixie Adams.

1 Daughter: Jennifer Rivers (Brett) Upshaw of Cheraw, SC
Grandson: Kyler Keith Hayes
2 Brothers: Richard (Nancy) Hayes and Johnny (Susan) Hayes both of Cheraw, SC
2 Sisters: Barbara (Martin) Hancock and Billie (James) McLendon both of Cheraw, SC
